Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB): Founded in 1971, the Symbiosis Society is the visionary creation of Padmashree Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, whose dream to live the philosophy - Vasudev Kutumbakam – ‘The World is a Family’ has created an environment where students have come to breach the boundaries of culture, religion and nationality. Three and a half decades of perseverance and commitment has gone in to deliver the most relevant and contemporary education in all fields.

With over 30 institutions spread across the country through 14 sprawling campuses and close to a 100,000 students under its fold the Symbiosis family has indeed left an indelible mark on the face of Indian education.

The Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB), formerly known as the Symbiosis Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT) and an integral part of the Symbiosis International University, was established in 1992 to provide budding managers with the foresight to tackle the sweeping changes of the liberalized Indian economy. The dictum of the institution has always been to ‘Equip for Change’ which it has successfully done for the last seventeen years.

With a view to incorporate the ideals of greatest brains of management from F W Taylor to Warren Buffet and a module encompassing each and every aspect of international business and not just foreign trade SIFT was reborn as the Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB).

Accreditation of Symbiosis International University :

In 2002, the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India conferred the "Deemed to be University" status on Symbiosis, and further in 2006 the UGC vide its notification withdrew the word Deemed and renamed the University as Symbiosis International University (SIU). SIU is accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade.

Infrastructure

State-of-the-art Infrastructure: Ravindranath Tagore once said that knowledge is best obtained under the open skies, in the midst of nature. The SIIB campus enshrines Tagore’s saying as it is surrounded by hills on either sides and it is pervaded by a sense of endless space and tranquility which makes it highly conducive for learning. This picturesque campus spread over five acres boasts of an auditorium, an indoor swimming pool, a well-equipped health and medical care center, an academic block which is of international standards and separate hostels for boys and girls along with the accommodation for the faculty.

Located in Pune Infotech Park, Hinjewadi, the students of SIIB get a feel of the corporate world from within the campus as it is surrounded by some of India’s largest multinational companies in the mould of Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, TATA Technologies and many others.

Students also get a chance to relax and rejuvenate on campus as it offers some sports facilities and has an active film club. They also get a chance to further their interactions with each other through various cultural events throughout the year which further add a colorful touch.
