Application Forms for JEE Main 2014

The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through JEE Main 2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in. The online application process will start from 15th November 2013 onwards. The last date for application is 26th December 2013. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main and JEE Advanced are different. The candidates are requested to read the information bulletin carefully and themselves ensure their eligibility as per the criteria laid down for JEE Main as well as JEE Advanced. In order to facilitate the aspiring candidates, the JEE Main secretariat has designated Facilitation Centres across the country who will help the candidates in filling online application without any charge. The list of such institutes is available on the JEE Main website and in JEE Main 2014 information bulletin.

Online Application Form Submission
  1. Online Application has to be submitted through JEE (Main)-2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in. The aspiring candidate should furnish all the details and upload scanned image of his/her photograph and signature while filling up the ‘On-line’ Application.
  2. Candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated acknowledgement slip after successful submission of data and payment of fees and keep the same in the safe custody for any future reference.
Important Note – As for this year and for the first time, the entire application process is online, including uploading of photograph & signature and payment of fees; the candidates are required NOT to send any document to JEE (Main) Secretariat.

Steps to be followed while filling Online Application Form.
  1. Download the information bulletin and read it carefully to ensure your eligibility.
  2. Read the contents of Online Format and instructions for applying online given in the Information Bulletin and keep the entire information ready.
  3. Keep the Scanned Images of your Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb impression ready in JPG format only.
  4. Fill in the Online Application Form.
  5. Upload Scanned Images of Photograph, Signature and Thumb Impression.
  6. Pay Examination Fee by Debit/Credit card or e-Challan (generated after submission of details in online application form)
  7. Download Acknowledgement Slip and keep the same in safe custody.
NOTE - The candidate should mention only his/her own or parents’ mobile no. and Email ID while submitting the On-Line application, as all the communications will be sent to the candidates on their registered Mobile Number and E-mail ID only.

Examination Fees for JEE Main 2014

The fee can be remitted in the following ways:
  1. By Debit/Credit Card. 
  2. Through e-Challan generated after successful submission of online application form. The fee through e-Challan may be deposited in any branch of Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank and ICICI Bank.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2014

A. Date of Birth
General Candidates - Born or after October 01, 1989 
Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Candidates - Born or after October 01, 1984

Note - Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.

B. Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)
Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2012 or 2013; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2014 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2014.

Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying Examination in 2011 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2015 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2014. The candidates who appeared in class 12th/Equivalent Qualifying Examinations in 2011, did not pass in 2011, but passed in 2012 are also not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2014.

C. Number of Attempts
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE Main shall be limited to 03 (three).

D. No. of Attempts & Age Limit for the States of Maharashtra & Odisha
Since the states of Maharashtra and Odisha have now joined JEE Main system from 2014. The age limit, for admission to institutions in these states which were earlier admitting candidates based on their state level examinations, will be as per their past practice only. The number of attempts in such cases will also remain same as per their past practice. This will however be obviously not applicable for admission to IITs/NITs/IIITs/CFTIs.

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2014

Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the details of JEE Main 2014 (Joint Entrance Examination). Joint Entrance Examination is the all India Entrance Examination conducted for Admission into the Engineering Courses for NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions) & other participating State Government Institutions.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) will be conducted in two parts:
  1. JEE Main is for the Admission into NITs, IITs, CFTIs other participating institutions.
  2. JEE Advanced is only for the Admission in IITs.
The JEE Main 2014 will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, participating State Government Institutions etc. The admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions under several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the JEE Main 2014.

For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs (International Institute of Information Technology) etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE Main 2014. The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization.

The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha have joined JEE Main system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE Main 2014 application form online.

The JEE Main will also be the eligibility test for the JEE Advanced, which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ ISM Dhanbad.

The candidate shall appear at the centre as shown on his/her Admit Card at his/her own cost. Candidates have the option of choosing their examination centre, date and time through the online registration & scheduling system. Availability of test centre option is on a first come first served basis, and candidates will only be shown sessions that are available at the point of scheduling.
  1. Test Centre Location: Exact address and location of the test centres is available at the online registration and scheduling application at AIPGMEE website. Location map of the test centres are also available at the website. Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the test centre locations and ensure that they report for the test as per scheduled time only. Maps and directions to each centre are available on AIPGMEE website www.nbe.gov.in/AIPGMEE. Candidates are required to plan their travel accordingly.
  2. Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the location of examination centre and plan travel time accordingly. Candidates have to reach the test centres on or before the reporting time. Candidates may note that late entry to the examination premises is not permitted under any circumstances. NBE shall not be responsible for any delayed arrival of the candidate in reaching the centre due to any reason.
  3. All candidates at the centre shall be frisked by security guards and biometric information shall be captured.
  4. Identity checks will be made upon arrival at the test centre to ensure that there are no unauthorized candidates appearing for the exam. Candidates are required to cooperate with the security checks.
  5. Please note that only the registered candidates will be allowed at the examination centre.
  6. Friends or relatives accompanying the candidates will not be allowed entry in the examination centre under any circumstances and will not be allowed to contact the candidate while the examination process is ongoing.



AIPGMEE 2014 Application Process

  1. You are required to purchase the information bulletin cum examination fee voucher from the selected branches of Axis Bank. Voucher can be obtained on payment of:
    Rs 3750/- for General/OBC category
    Rs 2750/- for SC/ST/ PWD category
  2. Make sure you have a valid email id before you begin the registration process on the official website.
  3. A unique serial number will be available underneath the scratch panel in the voucher.
  4. You have to enter this unique serial number on the official website for online registration and scheduling process.
  5. During the online registration process, you will be required to choose the examination centre, date and time. Kindly note that the request for change in examination centre will not be entertained once you have chosen the centre.
  6. After successful registration and scheduling process, you will be mailed admit card cum confirmation slip on their email id.
  7. You are required to take the print of the same and affix latest passport size photograph on this admit card.

AIPGMEE 2014 Question Pattern

  1. Syllabus: The syllabus for the test shall comprise of subjects/knowledge areas as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India with prior approval of Government of India. Kindly refer to the MCI website www.mciindia.org for complete document.

    The syllabus of the above topics shall be as per the latest Graduate Medical Education Regulations notified by the Medical Council of India with prior approval of the Govt. of India. For Graduate Medical Education Regulations please refer www.mciindia.org
  2. The list of MD/MS/PG Diploma specialties in which courses are available is attached in ANNEXURE–2.
  3. The examination shall be a multiple choice questions test delivered using computer network.
  4. The test comprises of 300 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in English language only.

    The weightage of MCQ’s in each specialty is indicative and purely provisional. NBE reserves its right to alter/vary/amend the same.
  5. Negative marking: There shall be no negative marking.

    There is no Counseling Fee for the counseling of All India Quota Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination.

  2. How to Pay?

    Candidates have to buy PGET branding vouchers only to register for AIPGMEE. Kindly purchase Composite Information Bulletin-cum-Examination Fee Voucher from the selected branches of Axis Bank. Refer to Annexure-1 of the information bulletin for list of branches of Axis Bank.

    The unique serial number on the Information Bulletin-cum-Examination Fee Voucher is available underneath the scratch panel and needs to be entered on the AIPGMEE website for the online registration and scheduling process.

  3. Candidates remaining absent from the examination or ineligible will forfeit their examination fee. Candidates are advised to read the rule position carefully and satisfy the terms and conditions for fulfillment of eligibility criteria before proceeding for payment of fees.

  4. FEES SHALL NEITHER BE REFUNDED NOR CARRIED FORWARD IF THE APPLICATION FOR AIPGMEE IS REJECTED/CANDIDATURE IS FOUND TO BE INELIGIBLE OR CANDIDATE IS UNABLE TO APPEAR IN THE EXAMINATION.

AIPGMEE 2014 Eligibility Criteria

  1. The candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
  2. A candidate, who holds M.B.B.S. degree from a recognized medical college (Appendix-III) or a foreign medical degree included in the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible to take this examination.
  3. Candidates who have studied/passed MBBS from the state of Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh are not eligible for 50% All India Quota. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible to apply for admission. The interested candidates from these states who want to apply for AFMS Institutions are advised to read Chapter 9.
  4. The candidates who have obtained MBBS degree from the Medical Colleges which are not recognized by Medical Council of India shall not be eligible for this test. However, a candidate who, after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign medical degree recognized by MCI), is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotating internship/practical training and is likely to complete the same by 31st March, 2014 can take up this examination, but he/she shall not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship and obtained full registration on or before 31st March, 2014 or the candidate produces a certificate from the head of Institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31st March, 2014.
  5. No request for condonation of Compulsory Rotating Internship shall be accepted.
  6. The dates indicated by candidates with regard to12 months Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship i.e. starting date, completion date, shall be treated as final and candidates will be required to submit the original Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship completion certificate at the time of admission in allotted College.
  7. The cut off dates for the recognition of the Medical Colleges from where the candidates have passed their MBBS Degree Course and completed compulsory rotatory Internship for the year 2014 will be 31st October, 2013. The Colleges recognized after this date will not considered.
  8. Registration with M.C.I./State Medical Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of admission in allotted College.
  9. Some of the Universities are having regulations that candidates who are already pursuing the PG Course in their University or in another University are not eligible for admission till they complete the course.The candidates who are already pursuing PG Courses either through All India Quota or State Quota and are applying for a seat under All India Quota may confirm the eligibility conditions of that University in this regard.

    MoH&FW/Dte. Gen. Health Services shall not be responsible if such candidates are refused for admission. Such candidates may opt for the subject and the college at their own risk and cost.
  10. A candidate can register and appear for AIPGMEE -2014 only once for admission to the academic year 2014-2015.


AIPGMEE 2014 Entrance Exam

National Board of Examinations conducts entry and exit examinations at Postgraduate and Post Doctoral level and licensing examinations as Screening Test for Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Qualifications.

In compliance to the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the National Board of Examination has been entrusted the responsibility by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to conduct a competitive entrance examination on all-India basis for admission to All India 50% quota MD/MS/Diploma Seats – 2014 Admission Session except for colleges located in Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh.

The entrance examination will be governed by the rules and regulations specified by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/Directorate General health Services/MCI/Government Medical Colleges of the country.

AIPGMEE 2014 Exam Date

The examination shall be conducted from 25th November – 6th December, 2013
