About Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM): Established in 1978, SIBM is in its 30th year of service to the student community. It remains the flagship brand of Symbiosis and is recognized as one of the best Business Schools in India. In the year 1979, SIBM proved its pioneering self by becoming the only institute in Pune to organize a seminar outside the city precincts - in Mumbai. Soon the trend was set and others followed suit. The concept of Internships / Summer Training was another offering made by SIBM to Pune. It was in 1982 that learning cum training scheme was started.
Supplementary training courses were included in the curriculum to supplement the Pune University syllabus. Little wonder that the same year SIBM started being ranked among the top 5 B-schools in India. The same year saw SIBM organize 3 national level seminars all outside the city of functioning. It would be interesting to point out that the first computer that was installed at SIBM was donated by students in 1987. Switch to the completely Wi-Fi enabled campus of 2005, also incidentally a students’ initiative – SIBM has certainly come a long way. In 1990, permanent affiliation was received from Pune University – the only B-school to have ever received it. In 1996 the BASE programme was introduced, in addition to the curriculum of Pune University. The same year witnessed SIBM shift to its new campus with well-equipped infrastructure.
The icing on the cake came in 2002 - when SIBM got the Deemed University status because of its excellent academic record. Further in 2006 the UGC vide its notification withdrew the word Deemed and renamed the University as Symbiosis International University (SIU).

(1) Masters In Business Administration (MBA): Full Time
Specializations: Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Marketing Communications.
Duration: Two years full time.
Eligibility:
A graduate from any statutory university with a minimum of 50% (45% for SC / ST) marks at graduation level. Candidates passing degree examination by part time/ correspondence course or in one sitting are not eligible. Students appearing for their final year can apply but their admission will be subject to obtaining the minimum required marks. A candidate is eligible to apply to one category only.
Intake: 180
Reservation within intake:
• 15% and 7.5% of seats reserved for SC/ST candidates respectively
• 3% seats reserved for “physically handicapped candidates (blind, hearing impaired (Deaf/dumb) mentally retarded or those with orthopaedic disorders). The minimum degree of disability should be 40% in order to be eligible under this category.
• 15% seats reserved for Management seats - applicant need to comply with all the eligibility norms and apply separately only after the entire process is complete. Appearing for SNAP test and filling of SIBM form is mandatory.
• Kashmiri Migrants: 2 seats over and above the total intake – children of migrants from J&K valley.
• 15% seats for International students.
Students can apply to one category only.

Selection Procedure : The selection of the students shall be on the basis of SNAP Test + GD +Interview

Person of Indian Origin (PIO): (At undergraduate / postgraduate level) You are eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if you have a PIO card, and are a citizen of a country other than India.
Non Resident Indian (NRI):
At undergraduate level:
You are eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if you have appeared for your last qualifying exam (equivalent to Indian 10+2) outside India.
At postgraduate level:
As an international student, you are eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if you have appeared for your 10+2 (equivalent to Indian 10+2) examination outside India, and have appeared for your graduation either in India or outside India.

Selection Procedure: The selection of the students shall be on the basis of Entrance Test to be held on 31st May, 2009 (10.30a.m to 12.00 noon)
Entrance Examination: The paper will consist of Verbal Ability. There will be 100 questions to solved in 90 minutes
Intake: 40 seats each course.
Course Duration: The duration of the course is one year with two semesters.
Course Fees: Rs.30,000 to be paid in two installments.
Examination Fees: Rs.1,500 Per Semester.

Eligibility for Admission
A student seeking admission for the course must possess Bachelor's Degree of any Statutory University or any other recognized Foreign University with Five years' Work Experience after graduation.
Selection Procedure : The selection of the students shall be on the basis of Entrance Test followed by Personal Interview.
Entrance Examination : The paper will consist of Verbal Ability and Basics of Mathematics. There will be 150 questions to be solved in 120 minutes.
Intake : 50 seats
Fees : Rs. 100000 P.A. to be paid in two installments.(Rs.50000 per semester)
Application process begins from 15th April 2009.
Course Commencement : 4th July 2009
Course Structure : The programme structure consists of 5 semesters (Classroom teaching and projects)
Students will also be required to complete a Research Project in any functional area of their choice within a period of 6 months after completion of 4th Semester. They are required to submit a Project Report on the same.
