The ITM Institute of Hotel Management was founded by Prof. P. V. Ramana in 2002 at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai in academic collaboration with Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh, UK. The ITM Institute of Hotel Management is a part of ITM Trust, a parent body of the Institute for Technology & Management, a pioneering & reputed business school of India. What makes ITM Institute of Hotel Management different is its emphasis on industry relevant & comprehensive education provided to students in a scholarly & focused academic environment.

The intensifying competition for resources and demand for high performance are pressing firms to become more flexible, more results-focused, and faster. Companies are finding that such initiatives require able leadership, and the challenge for organizations and business schools alike is to help build effective leadership both in the next generation of managers and throughout the organization today.

Such a need catalyzed the genesis of ITM Global Leadership Center. Founded in 2001,the Center offers a number of programs in the area of leadership and management, and also works with a range of international companies to develop specific tailored programs.

The Center has an excellent track record in the corporate world of producing quality managers, adept at handling grueling challenges of corporate life. Our programs deliver a comprehensive curriculum, with specialist know-how and concepts built-in to every course.

From inception, the Center has relied on the global knowledge and best practices gained from its collaborators. A strong association with Southern New Hampshire University, USA; EDHEC Business School, France and Groupe ESSCA, Hungary besides several others brings a world-awareness into our programs and students.

With our focus on Global Leadership & Business Strategies, and our specialized know-how in International business, HRM and Retail Business, the Center also conducts custom training programs for Corporates. Through our Summer Internship program, the Center also lends Consulting and Research services to companies.

Located in its picturesque campus in Navi Mumbai, the Center conducts its programs in a technologically advanced environment. The expansive campus is inter-connected through a 400 port LAN which brings the network to every desk, with a second layer of Wireless Networking enabling connections anywhere. Clustered servers, multiple-line high-speed Internet connectivity and an Intranet deliver streams of information to every screen.

ITM Global Leadership Center -Chennai Campus

Chennai which is the fourth most populous metropolitan area and the fifth most populous city in India is the host to the second ITM Global Leadership Centre campus. Approached through a swanky 6 Lane Express Highway along the SIPCOT IT Corridor, in Siruseri, the campus is set amidst sprawling 4 acres of aesthetically maintained land. With a built up of over 35,000 Sq. ft equipped with amalgamated Academics & Administrative blocks with fully air conditioned class rooms, Library, Seminar Hall, IT Lab & Canteen.

The lectures halls are spacious & well ventilated having facilities like PA systems and LCD projector. To conduct seminars, guest lectures etc. the campus has a separate seminar hall. Also a separate computer center with Internet Access and High Speed connectivity along with a well equipped IT Lab with state of art facilities.

Program Objectives:
To bring about excellence in Technical Education particularly in the faculty of Management studies.
To improve the quality of academic practices.
To build research capability of Faculty Members.
To inculcate the spirit of research and inquiry among the management Professionals.


Eligibility:
Master's degree in Humanities/ Commerce/ Science/ Management /Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/Pharmacy from a recognized University with 60% marks or equivalent.
If there are exceptional candidates having B.Tech /B.E./B.Arch./C.A./C.S. having evidence of published research works in scholarly peer reviewed international journals and a minimum of five years of professional experience after obtaining his/her Bachelor's degree, may also be considered on a discretionary basis.

Preparatory Program:
The candidates will undergo a preparatory program for a period of six months in the designated Campuses of ITM such as; Navi Mumbai, Chennai and Warangal depending upon the choice of the candidate.

The preparatory program will involve course work in four subjects, viz.
Systems Approach to Management
Research Methodologies
Quantitative Methods and Applications
Any one of the following course based on the choice of research area opted by the candidate:

Advanced Operations Management
Advanced Marketing Management
Advanced Finance Management
Advanced Human Resource Management
Advanced Econometric Methods
Advanced Computer Applications

Classes will be held for two days on weekends only.
After the completion of the coursework, the candidates will appear for a comprehensive written examination in each course and viva-voce examination to be conducted jointly by a team of experts from BIT and from ITM

Ph.D. Registration

After successful completion of the comprehensive examinations both written and viva-voce, the candidates will be allowed to register as doctoral students to undertake thesis/dissertation with BIT.

For registration with BIT ,the doctoral students will submit a research proposal under the guidance of appropriate Research Supervisor/s to BIT through ITM. The candidates will be governed as per the norms, regulations and fee structure of BIT as applicable to Ph.D Programme from time to time. The BIT will be the final examining and degree awarding authority to the doctoral students.
