Government Dental
College & Research Institute (GSCRIB), Bangalore was established in
1958 is one of the first few dental colleges in the country post independence
and the first dental college in Karnataka. The college is affiliated to Rajiv
Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka State, India. It offers
graduate, post graduate degree courses and certificate courses. GDC is a
recognized center for the PhD program in the six specialties with 3 recognized
PhD guides. It’s also a centre for numerous ongoing WHO-GOI projects.
GDC was considered as an autonomous institute by the Govt.
of Karnataka in 2007 and renamed as Government Dental College & Research
Institute. The college within a very short period of time, gained lot of
importance with its service to humanity mainly through best dental education to
its students and catering to the needs of the population in and around
Karnataka through efficient oral health care delivery.

Bachelor of Dental
Surgery
BDS- Stands for Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Typically, BDS
is a 5 year course, minimum eligibility for which is an intermediate (10+2)
with science and 50% marks.
