K.V.G Dental College
was established and started functioning on October 2nd, 1991. The institution
is sponsored by the Academy of Liberal Education (Regd.), Sullia D.K. From its
humble beginnings, it has grown to its present stature under the able and
dynamic leadership of the Founder President of A.O.L.E., Sri.Kurunji
Venkatramana Gowda.
The Dental College first started functioning with a student
strength of 40. The clinical section of the Dental College started functioning
in a wing of the K.V.G Hospital and Research Centre, Sullia, in January 1993.
All the Departments of the College were shifted to a new Dental College
Building in December 1993, which is located in the heart of the campus. This
new building was inaugurated on 24th April 1994 by the then Chief Minister of
Karnataka State, Sri. Veerappa Moily and the clinical wing was inaugurated by
the President of Dental Council of India, Dr.R.K.BALI.
Eligibility for admission to MDS:
MDS curriculum extends over 3 years full time study and is
designed to enable candidates to achieve an advanced level of knowledge and
competence in all recent aspects of dentistry.
Eligibility, selection and admission to MDS and PG diploma
courses in various specialties as per the prevailing rules of DCI, RGUHS, CET
and COMEDK.
Eligibility for admission to BDS Degree Course:
- Candidates who have passed two years pre-university examination of PU Board of Karnataka or any other examination recognized as equivalent by RGUHS, Karnataka with Physics, Chemistry Biology and English as optional subjects.
- Candidates must have obtained not less than 50% marks (40% in the case of scheduled caste /tribe) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English the optional subject groups in qualifying examination.
- The candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year.
- Admission will be subject to the rules and regulations of RGUHS, Karnataka and Dental Council of India, New Delhi.
NRI & foreign students who seek admission must produce
the following documents(where applicable):
- Appropriate student visa.
- Eligibility Certificate from University ( RGUHS)
- NOC from the Department of Health & Family welfare, GOI, New Delhi.
- Permission for stay, issued by the respective authority.
