K.V.G Dental College was established and started functioning
on October 2nd, 1991. The institution is sponsored by the Academy of Liberal
Education (Regd.), Sullia D.K. From its humble beginnings, it has grown to its
present stature under the able and dynamic leadership of the Founder President
of A.O.L.E., Sri.Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda.
The Dental College first started functioning with a student
strength of 40. The clinical section of the Dental College started functioning
in a wing of the K.V.G Hospital and Research Centre, Sullia, in January 1993.
All the Departments of the College were shifted to a new Dental College
Building in December 1993, which is located in the heart of the campus. This
new building was inaugurated on 24th April 1994 by the then Chief Minister of
Karnataka State, Sri. Veerappa Moily and the clinical wing was inaugurated by
the President of Dental Council of India, Dr.R.K.BALI.
The BDS degree course of this institution was recognized by
the Dental Council of India in January 1996 and following that nearly 40
students of the first batch graduated from the institution.
The admission capacity was increased from 40 to 60 students
in the Academic year 1994-95 and it again increased to 100 students in the
Academic year 1995-96.

To be an institution of excellence in Dental education and
research to provide quality Dental health care to rural population.

- The mission and vision of the KVG Dental College is achieved through standard goals measured across the domains of curricular development aspects, teaching learning and evaluation process, research innovations, focus on public health and community services.
The Goals:
- To impart quality Dental education to the learners in a fine academic environment of excellence, so as to develop their competence in discrimination of knowledge and mould them be a useful member of the society.
- To provide advanced and up to date Dental health care facilities to a regional village community of India and generate a solid Dental health care system in the country.
- To develop technical skill, digital dexterity and research aspiration in students and to install strong commitment, ethical and moral values for the benefit of the nation.
