The college was incepted by Jagadguru Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji, the President of Sri Adichunchanagiri Trust. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, for conducting courses in various branches of engineering. The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum.
