SP Jain Institute of
Management and Research is located at Andheri West, Mumbai.The institute
was established in 1981.The major facilities are library with more than 180000
volumes including the most recent publication in diverse areas of business,
economics and management, 150 foreign and indian business journals and
periodicals, audio -video cassettes and cd-roms , it centre, am phitheatre and
executive training centre, separate hostel for boys and girls etc.The faculty
of the institute undertake various research projects. The major research
publications are experiential learning in management education, challenge with
curricula in management education,a pan - india footprint of over-indebtedness
of microfinance borrowers from and exploratory survey. The major recruiters are

Post Graduate Diploma in
Management:
The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a
two-year, full time, residential programme. The programme offers
specializations in finance, operations, marketing and information management
and is ranked among the top ten in the country. The emphasis of the programme
is to develop in the candidate the ability to translate theory into practice.
It aims at promoting an inquiring & analytical mind,
which proactively seeks the right knowledge, acquires the appropriate skills
and promotes the right attitude to develop capabilities needed to manage
enterprises in the twenty-first century. This programme is now in its 25th year
and has a number of successful alumni in senior positions across the industry.
Post Graduate Executive Management
Program:
PGEMP (Post Graduate Executive Management Program) is an
“MBA equivalent” general management program. It is designed for executives who
are graduates and have atleast 5 years total experience. It requires the
participants, selected through an admission process, to come to the Mumbai
campus for 9 days every quarter; for 7 quarters. We start 5 batches in a year
of 50 each.
Post Graduate Programme In
Management(PGPM):
Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM), earlier known
as Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), is a eleven month, full-time,
residential programme. The mission of the programme is to create and nurture
value-based future leaders taking on higher management roles in transforming
organizations.
SPJIMR perceived the need of the industry for thought
leaders in middle level management and successfully endeavored to create the
PGPM course.The programme which is in its fourth year, has challenged the
paradigm of conventional part time courses for working executives. Participants
gain management perspectives through an innovative pedagogy of experiential
learning and enhanced peer interaction.
The programme offers a platform for learning and exchange of
ideas with expert faculty. The renowned faculty at the institute facilitates
innovative thinking through practical academic inputs and thought-provoking

Post Graduate Program in Family
Managed Business:
Family Managed Business (PGFMB) is an 18-month program
conceived with the objective of training and developing the incumbents of
family managed businesses. It is a solution to the dilemma of whether to pursue
an MBA or to join the family business, by retaining the merits of both at the
same time.
The FMB program requires the participant to learn at the
institute for one week per month and gain hands-on business experience for the
remaining three weeks of the month. What is learnt at the institute is to be
applied in the business before the commencement of further learning in the
consequent month. In the process, the participant gains expertise in the
academic aspects of management education as well as the practical side of the
family business.
