The AVS Educational Trust is a non-profit Charitable & Educational Trust Started in the year 2000 to serve the community, particularly the weaker sections of the society by providing quality education and training. Visionary industrialist and philanthropist Mr. SV Shivagnanom founded the trust.

AVS College of Engineering and Technology (AVSCET) was founded two years later by the Chairman Mr. SV Shivagnanom to produce cutting edge engineers with a passion and zeal for excellence. The institute is run by two young & dynamic AVS trustees. Known as a brilliant strategist and a tough administrator, Mr. S. Natrajan is the Secretary and Correspondent for the college. Director of Dignity Innovations an export house recognized by the Govt of India, Mr. S. Rajasekaran is the Placement Director for the college.

Mission:
To develop AVSCET into a Centre of Excellence for Engineering and Technology”, by imparting quality education in the fields of science, engineering and technology, at undergraduate and post graduate levels to the rural and underprivileged youth, bringing out the total personality, creativity, ingenuity, moral, ethical Values and nurturing them towards top class corporate professionals as well as excellent researchers and entrepreneurs thus enabling the students to meet the challenges of the industry and the diverse social needs of the nation, keeping pace with Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization.
