Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka COMEDK UGET: The Karnataka Private Medical Colleges Association (K.P.M.C.A), Karnataka Dental Colleges Association (K.P.D.C.A) & Karnataka Un-aided Private Engineering Colleges Association have in their endeavor to offer a "Single Window" approach to students seeking admissions, have evolved a self-imposed discipline in implementing the verdict of the apex court and have embarked on an endeavor to develop an effective, credible and alternative seat selection process for admissions & have decided to form a "Consortium of Private Medical, Dental & Engineering Colleges" named as 'COMED-K'.

COMEDK Under Graduate Entrance Test - COMEDK 2010 Exam Date

The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students wanting to seek COMEDK 2010 Admissions to the Under-Graduate Medical, Dental and Engineering Courses of the Member Institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” COMEDK, has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the academic year 2010-2011.

COMEDK will conduct a separate entrance test for Medical Dental and Engineering Under-Graduate courses called 'COMEDK UGET 2010' for candidates seeking COMEDK admission to MBBS, BDS and BE.

The COMEDK Entrance Test is being conducted for merit determination for use by COMEDK Member Institutions only. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking COMEDk UGET admissions for the Under-Graduate courses in Member Institutions. The COMEDK UGET 2010 test scores are valid only for COMEDK 2010 admissions during the academic year 2010-2011.

COMEDK UGET 2010 Test Date:

The COMEDK UGET 2010 will be conducted across Karnataka on Sunday the 09th May 2010.

Under-Graduate Medical, Dental and Engineering Courses

* M.B.B.S. and B.D.S. courses are scheduled to begin from August 2010.
* B.E. and B.Arch. courses are scheduled to begin from September 2010.

COMEDK UGET 2010 Important Dates:

COMEDK 2010 Eligibility

COMEDK 2010 MBBS:

1. General Merit candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 50% marks in PCB.

2. SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 40% marks in PCB. Candidates should have attained the age of 17 years as on 31/12/2009.

COMEDK 2010 BDS:

1. General Merit candidates should have passed qualifying exam which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent exam recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject must have passed the subject and individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. Candidates should have attained the age of 17 years as on 31/12/2009. There is no Common Entrance Test for admission during the year 2010-2010.

2. SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. All other requirements are same as applicable for General Merit candidates.

COMEDK Exam 2010 B.E:

1. General Merit candidates, the minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent qualifying Examination recognized by State / Central Government with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. English as one of the language of study is compulsory. There is no minimum marks fixed for entrance test. Hence all candidates who have taken the entrance test will find a place in the merit list as per their performance.

2. SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka the aggregate marks in PCM should be not less than 40% in the qualifying examination as mentioned above.

COMEDK 2010 B. Arch

1. A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination (2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination) with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of SC, ST and OBC Candidates of Karnataka. Further the candidate should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture with a minimum score of 80 out of 200 for both general merit and category candidates.

2. COMEDK will not be conducting any Common Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B.Arch (Architecture Course) as per existing rules.

COMEDK 2010 Application Forms

The COMEDK UGET 2010 Application Process involves the following stages:

Send the COMEDK 2010 Application Forms in A4 size envelope only. Do not fold the COMEDK application form 2010.

Applicants are requested to send the filled-in COMEDK Application Form 2010 at the earliest to avoid any delay. Please do not wait until the last date to send in your COMEDK 2010 Forms.

* Ensure that the Demand Draft for Rs.650/- (Rupees six hundred fifty only) if you intend to appear for COMEDK 2010 MBBS (PCB) or BE (PCM) and Rs.850/- (Rupees eight hundred fifty only) for MBBS and BE (PCMB) Demand Draft to be kept ready before filling up the COMEDK 2010 Online Application form, as you will have to enter the Demand Draft details.

* The COMEDK 2010 Online application form has to be filled up properly and completely.

* Take a print of the filled in COMEDk UGET 2010 Application form and Date of Birth Certificate/ Identity Proof (Two Copies : 1) Candidate Copy and 2) COMEDK Copy).

* The COMEDK UGET 2010 Application form is said to be complete only if it is enclosed with all the documents and posted to COMEDK office.

* Multiple COMEDK application forms filled and received from the same candidate will result in confusion and may result in disqualification.

* Multiple Demand Drafts in excess of the prescribed fee (Rs. 650/- or Rs. 850/-) if sent by the candidate will not be refunded.

* Non refundable fee for taking COMEDK UGET-2010 and attending centralized counseling if eligible is (Rs. 650/- or Rs. 850/-)

* If Demand Draft is not enclosed the COMEDK UGET application will be rejected.

Note:

The recent passport size photographs to be provided have to be identical. It should not be more than 6 months old. Application with smudged/tampered or hazy photograph will not be accepted. Any application received not adhering to these specifications will be rejected without any clarifications and no refund will be made. The decision of the COMEDK Committee on this would be final and binding.

COMEDK 2010 Brochure and COMEDK 2010 application form can be downloaded only through COMEDK website.

Note: Candidates are advised to visit COMEDK website regularly to watch for "Red Alert". The "Red Alert" consist the list of incomplete COMEDK applications. COMEDK is not responsible for rejection if clarifications listed in the red alert are not provided on time.

The completed COMEDK UGET 2010 Application Form has to reach COMEDK office by post or courier on or before Saturday the April 1st week, 2010 to the following COMEDK address.
