Christ University, Bangalore formerly Christ College (Autonomous) associated to Bangalore University was instituted in the year 1969.

The institution has been continually rated amongst the top 10 educational institutions of the country. It has the rare distinction of being the first institution in Karnataka to be certified by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) UGC for quality education.

The college became the first College in South India to be reaccredited with A+ by NAAC. In 2008, the college declared it as Deemed to be University, in the name and style of Christ University.
