Yenepoya Medical College Mangalore was established in the year 1999. It was declared as the part of Yenepoya University.

The institute is belongs to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore for award of degrees. 

Presently the institute is conducting post graduate courses in 20 departments. It caters to the health care needs of the regions of Dakshina Kannada and northern Kerala.

The vision of the college is to be one of the premier medical institutions in the country based on education, scientific investigation and health care delivery by 2016.
