Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Belur was instituted in the year 1986.
The Institute objective is to provide medical education to desire students from rural areas. Before the institute was under Mysore University and now it comes under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
The
institute is started by the honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri
Ramakrishna Hegde in the holy presence of Padmabhushana Dr. Sri Sri Sri
Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji.
Each member in the team carries extensive experience in
his/her field of specialization and carries the day-to-day functioning of the
institution with precision.
