Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College was established in the year 1963 by KLE (Karnatak Lingayat Education) Society. The college is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the Medical Council of India. It is one of the top twenty colleges in India.

Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum is a unit of KLE University and it has been granted the deemed University status by UGC. The college is also recognized by the Malaysian Medical Council and listed in WHO World Directory of Medical Schools.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission:

• The students must have passed 2nd PUC with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects with English as one subject. He / She should have scored minimum marks of 50% and 40% in case of SC / ST category.
