Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (DMIMS) – a Deemed
University was granted this status by the University Grants Commission in 2005.
The constituents of the Deemed University are located in a 125 acre campus in
Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha about 70 kms from Nagpur, Maharashtra, India which is
the geographic centre of India. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College is a
constituent of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences University.
Datta Meghe Institution of Medical Sciences is conferred
with status of deemed University by Govt.of India. The deemed university
governed Jawaharlal Nehru medical college and Sharad pawar dental college. JNMC
signed an agreement with TIFAC in September 2005 to establish TIFAC-CORE in
interventional Radiology. Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, a part of JNMC,
is a 690 bedded fully equipped teaching hospital attached to medical college.
Its motto is “cure with care”.
