Christ University, formerly Christ College (Autonomous)
affiliated to Bangalore University was established in July 1969. It became the
most preferred educational institution in the city of Bangaloru within the
first three decades. From 1990 onwards it has scaled greater heights. Due to
the introduction of innovative and modern curricula, insistence on academic
discipline, imparting of Holistic Education, a team of creative and dedicated
staff, the institution has been continually rated amongst the top 10
educational institutions of the country. It has the rare distinction of being
the first institution in Karnataka to be accredited by National Assessment and
Accreditation Council (NAAC) UGC for quality education. In 2004, UGC conferred
Autonomy on the Institution.
In 2005, it became the first College in South India to be
reaccredited with A+ by NAAC. UGC identified it as an Institution with
Potential for Excellence in 2006.
On July 22, 2008, a glorious day in the history of the
Institution, the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Union Government of
India, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, vide Notification No. F.
9-34/2007-U.3(A), declared it a Deemed to be University, in the name and style
of Christ University.
Campuses of Christ University -
Christ University has 2 campuses one is situated in Hosur
road and the other towards Mysore road. The main campus is eco-friendly, serene
and provides peaceful environment to its students. It is deeply committed in
upholding values system; it expects its students to conduct themselves in a
worthy manner in their dress, demeanor and sense of discipline.
Kengeri campus is a lush green land of 75 acres situated
about 25 kilometers away from the main campus, 10 kilometers away from
Bangalore University and 8 kilometers away from R V College of Engineering
towards Mysore road.

Placements at Christ University -
The centre for placements and career guidance facilitates
the students to explore the world of employment. The placement office takes the
initiative to explore new career avenues for graduates and post graduates
through visits to new companies and unexplored sectors. The placement office
focuses on the professional development of the students and trains them to get
an entry into the career of their choice. The placement office also helps
students in career planning through career counseling where in they gather
information about themselves in terms of their interests, aptitudes and abilities
so that they can choose their careers more effectively.
