Al-Ameen Dental
College and Al-Ameen Dental College Hospital at Bijapur is an institution
established by Al-Ameen Charitable Fund Trust(ACFT),Bangalore in 1991 to cater
the needs of religious minority community with forty students admission. It is
having excellent track record with good academic results since its inception.
This College offers BDS course which is recognized by the
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and Dental Council of
India.The process of admissions start in the month of May /June of any year. It
is proposed to increase further twenty more seats for BDS. It boast of the
expansion of teaching staff more than twenty five qualified MDS and twenty BDS
members.The College Hospital boast of excellent infrastructure with all the
modern hi-tech equipments Recently DCI has approved Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery Department as a Post Graduate Department with the intake of two MDS
seats per year.
Admission
Procedure
Education qualifications and other minimum requirements for
admission to BDS Course is as per the recommendations of the Dental Council of
India and those prescribed by Government of Karnataka and Rajiv Gandhi
University of Health Sciences,Karnataka,Bangalore.
Eligibility
:
1.).Candidates who have passed the Second pre-University
Examination of the Pre-University Education Board, Karnataka or equivalent
examination with English as the core subject and with Physics, Chemistry &
Biology as optional subjects with 50% of marks and above in optional group.
Or
Has passed the two years intermidiate or equivalent course
that of,with science subjects,viz,Physics,Chemisrty and Biology along with
English from a recognizes Indian University or Pre-University Intermediate
Board.
Or
B.Sc(Part I ) Examination of an Indian University as laid
down by the University Grants Commission(UGC).Note: A student who has passed
the BSc examination with one or more of the subjects mentioned above would be
admitted to the dental course if he/she has passed by remaining subjects of the
Medical Group ( Physics,Chemistry and Biology) in the Pre-University /
Intermediate examination.
Or
The candidate should have secured not less than 50% of marks
on the aggregate of the above subjects in the qualifying or competitive
examination conducted on similar lines as the qualifying examination conducted
by a competitive body. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste /Scheduled
Tribes the minimum marks required for admission shall be 40% in lieu of 50% for
general candidates.Provided that a candidate for admission to the Dental Course
must have obtained not less than 50% of the total marks in English and Science
subjects taken together.( i ) At the qualifying examination ( or at a higher
examination are made on basis of marks obtained at these examinations)
Or
( ii ) 50% of the total marks in English and Science
subjects taken together at the competitive entrance examination where such
examination are held for selection.Provided further that in respect of candidates
belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes,the minimum marks required for
admission shall be 40% in lieu of 50% for General candidates,where the seats
reserved for SC / ST students in any states cannot be filled for want of
requisite number of candidates fulfilling the minimum requirements prescribed
from the state, such vacant seats may be filled up on All India basis with SC /
ST candidates getting not less than the minimum prescribed pass
percentage(Approved by the Central Government vide letter No.Z.22025 / 1 / 82

2) The candidate who has completed the age of 17 years at
the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st.December of
the year of his / her admission to the 1st. BDS course.
3) Candidate must be Muslim by religion
MDS
COURSE ( Oral & maxillofacial Surgery )
- The candidate should be a Graduate in Medicine (BDS) from any University recognised by the Medical Council of India.
- The Candidate should have completed satisfactorily the Rotating compulsory Internship of one year in an Institution recognised by the Dental Council of India )
- The Candidate should have obtained permanent Registration of any State Dental Council.
- No candidate shall be admitted for any postgraduate degree/diploma course unless the candidate has obtained and produced the eligibility certificate issued by the University. The following documents are to be submitted at the time of admission:
1.BDS pass/degree certificate issued by the University.
2. Marks cards of all the university examinations passed BDS
Course.
3. Attempt Certificate issued by the Principal.
4. Completion of internship certificate.
5. Any State Dental Council Registration Certificate6.Age proof
certificate.
