Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) was established in 1984. The college enjoys an enviable reputation among Indian medical schools. Adaptation to new technologies, innovative teaching methods, dedicated community service and an experienced faculty have contributed to its long tradition of excellence.
The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences was declared as “University” under section 3 of the UGC Act in May 2005.
The University now has a number of constituent colleges, which include Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Biotechnology.
The Medical college has been recognized by the Malaysian Medical Council and the first batch of Government sponsored students has arrived. Students from all regions of India and other countries besides Malaysia viz. UAE, Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius, USA & Canada have enrolled in the University.

Admission Details
The Candidates seeking Admission in KIMS Karad for Post Graduate Courses have to appear Post Graduate Medical All India Entrance Test (PGM AIET) conducted by KIMS University.
- Candidates must obtain 50% or more marks at PGM AIET to qualify for admission.
- The provisional selection for the General seats in the Post Graduate courses will be done on the basis of merit in the Post Graduate Medical All India Entrance Test.
- Management Seats : 50% of the seats are reserved for management seats. The selection of candidates for management seats will be done according to the inter se merit of the applicants in the entrance test (PGM-AIET)
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility for admission will be as per MCI regulation.
- The candidate who have passed from MCI recognized Medical College and who possess Indian Nationality with a proof in form of Nationality Certificate / valid passport are eligible for PGM AIET Entrance Test.
- The candidates should have obtained registration either from Medical Council of India or authorized State Medical Council after completing one year compulsory rotating Internship.
- The candidates, who are still undergoing one year compulsory rotating internship and are likely to complete it by 30th April, of Admission year will be permitted to appear for PGM AIET. His/Her selection will be subject to completion of compulsory rotating internship of one year and registration before 1st May.
- He/She will have to submit documentary evidence from the Principal/Dean of the college regarding the anticipated date of completion of internships along with the application, failing which, his/her application shall be rejected.

- Candidate have to fill this form and dispatch the same to the COE, KIMSDU, Karad along with a demand draft of Rs. 3000/- (Form Fee + Entrance test Fee) Demand draft should drawn on any Bank, in favour of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, payable at Karad.
