Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College has been established in the year 1981 by Ananda Social and Education Trust, with the objective of providing Primary, Secondary and Tertiary health care facilities to the deserving. The institution also envisages to produce doctors with best possible professional knowledge and attitude of service above self, both at Undergraduate and Post graduate levels.
All the faculty members impart up to date knowledge and help the students in research and academic activities. All the staff , help the students whenever required with immense pleasure. Though aimed at reaching the heights of excellence in the field of Medical, Health and patient care , adequate opportunities for extra curricular activities like sports and cultural is also given for all round personality development of the students.
Till date more than 3000 students have graduated from this college and working as professional doctors across the globe . The college has been conducting postgraduate courses since 1992 in 18 disciplines. The Institute provides a very good infrastructure for medical care and research. It has been in the forefront of academics and health care .

Admission Details
Students seeking admission to the college will have to fill the prescribed application form given by the college.
- Candidates seeking admission to MBBS course should have passed the two year Pre-University course /Standard XII (10+2) examination with physics, Chemistry and Biology as electives with English as one of the subject
- II PUC/XII standard marks card
- SSLC/Xth Standard marks card
- CET/Comed-K allotment order
- Caste certificate
- Migration certificate
- Caste certificate
- Character Certificate
- Eligibility Certificate from University if applicable
- Five latest colour passport size photographs
- Transfer /School leaving Certificate
- A certificate form a Registered Medical Practitioner indicating the physical fitness of the applicant to pursue medical course and practice the career. The certificate amongst other things should include : height, weight, chest expansion, vision in each eye, hearing, any evidence of degenerative diseases, physical or mental infirmity or any other disease
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates seeking admission to MBBS course should have passed the two year Pre-University course /Standard XII (10+2) examination with physics, Chemistry and Biology as electives with English as one of the subject
- 50% of the aggregate marks in electives taken together at the qualifying examination and CET/COMED-K entrance tests
- For OBC 3A category and SC/ST students of Karnataka , required marks is relaxed to 40% in the electives. Otherwise the eligibility conditions remain the same for them also.
- The Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences is the authority to decide equivalence of any other examination hence clarification may be sought directly from him.
- The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31 December of the year of admission.
- The candidates from other states seeking admission to MBBS course must obtain eligibility certificate From Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka
