D Y Patil Medical College, Pune was founded in the year 1996 received approval of the medical council of India (MCI) for the award of MBBS degree for its very first batch.

The institute received recognition of the Medical Council of India (MCI), for the award of MBBS Degree from its very first batch.

This is the first private College in the State of Maharashtra to receive MCI approval to increase in the intake capacity of MBBS Course from 100 to 150 students in 2003 and from 150 to 250 in 2012, within the short span of time.

The college has been accorded the status of Deemed-to-be-University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Government of India on recommendation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) within a period of just six and a half years of establishment perhaps the shortest period of such recognition.

Eligibility - D Y Patil Medical College Pune

Only the candidate, who satisfies or is likely to satisfy the following eligibility requirements for admission to the courses.

Nationality and Age:

The candidate shall be an Indian national and shall have completed 17 years of age, i.e. he/she should have been born before 1st January 1998.

Qualifications for M.B.B.S

• The candidate, seeking admission to these programs, shall have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (H.S.C.) examination / the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination / Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) examination or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 HSC examination of any recognized Board / University from any school / college situated in India after 12 years of study. The candidate with other qualifications shall have to get equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian University (AIU), New Delhi.
• The candidate, seeking admission to these programs, shall have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained at least 50 percent marks (40 percent marks in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes / Scheduled Tribes / Other Backward Class) in Physics Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination, i.e. 10 + 2 / HSC or an equivalent examination.
• A candidate who has appeared or is likely to appear for qualifying examination i.e. HSC etc, provided he/she has offered the above mentioned subjects at the said qualifying examination(s)
• The candidate seeking admission for the programs shall also have secured at least 50 percent marks.

The admissions to MBBS shall be done on the basis of merit as ascertained from the performance of the candidates in All India Common Entrance Test -2014 and their respective preference(s) given in the Application Form.
