Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE), started in 1979, was founded by Sri R Dayananda Sagar and is run by the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peeta Trust today. It is located on 28 acres (110,000 m2) of land on a hillock in Kumaraswamy Layout, Bangalore South. Research programmes sponsored by AICTE, AR&DB, KSCST are undertaken. The college organizes seminars, workshops, teaching talks, sports and extracurricular activities. The college with 1850 systems, student information system (SIS) and several digital classrooms was one of the first education centers to go WiFi in the country.
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE), Bangalore is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering.The college is an integral part of Dayananda Sagar Institutions (DSI), which has been into education for close to half a century offering all major professional course.
The vision of the college is to be a centre of excellence in education, research & training and to produce human resource of exceptional leadership quality to serve national needs. DSI has been successful in collaborating with a good number of universities and centers of excellence that will allow for student & faculty exchange and joint research.
Students are admitted to postgraduate courses based on their GATE test scores as well as on their Post Graduate Karnataka CET scores.

Admission Details
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering admits students to undergraduate courses based on their Karnataka CET or their COMED-K UGET test ranks. DSCE also admits students under Management quota,which does not place any merit requirements.There is a lateral entry scheme in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can directly enter the second year of study in engineering.Students are admitted to postgraduate courses based on their GATE test scores as well as on their Post Graduate Karnataka CET scores.
Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate who has passed 10 + 2 pattern of examination (equivalent to the two year Pre University in Karnataka) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology/ Electronics as optional subjects in the Qualifying Examination.
- The eligibility for admission is 40% marks in the qualifying examination in case of SC/ST, Category-1 and OBC Category candidates. This provided that the marks obtained by the candidate in biotechnology/ computer science/ biology/ electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of chemistry.
- In case the marks obtained in chemistry is less for the required aggregate percentage for the purpose of determination of eligibility (and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect of engineering/ technology courses).
