Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences, is a part of Babu Banarasi Das University, was established in year 2000 by Babu Banarasi Das Educational Society under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta, M.P. (Rajya Sabha) & Ex. Union Minister of State of steel, Governemnt of India, with a vision to facilitate quality Dental health care & Education of global standards. The commitment, dedication & vision of Dr. Akhilesh Das, Hon’ble chairman, Dr. Alka Das, Hon’ble Vice-Chairperson and Dr. V.P. Sinha, Secretary of the society have shaped BBDCODS into a premier Dental College of North India.
The Dental College is fully equipped with state of the art diagnostic, treatment and training facilities. Under the leadership of our Principal Prof. Shobha Tandon, eminent scholar and academician of International fame, Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences is endowed with world renowned faculty. ADMISSIONS AND ELIGIBILITY
BDS- Age Applicant should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete age on or before 31st Dec of the year of admission to the Dental course. Date of Birth recorded in High School/ ICSE or its equivalent certificate will be taken as accepted.
Qualification- The candidate must have passed the 10 + 2 examination i.e. I.C.S.E/ Intermediate examination or its equivalent comprising of a curriculum of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from the recognized board or University. The candidate must have passed in all the above subjects and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together in the qualifying examination. Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category would require in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English a minimum of 40% marks as against the 50% marks for the general category candidates.
MDS- A candidate for admission to the MDS course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) of an Indian University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India. Candidate not possessing a recognized dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India before he can be admitted to the MDS course of the college.
