KS Hegde Medical
Academy (KSHEMA), Mangalore was founded in the year 1999. The institute
became a component Nitte University in 2009.
The Institution has made rapid progress towards being recognized as a medical school with high academic standards delivering quality health care with an emphasis on promoting social responsibility in its students.

The Institution is named after its founder, the visionary,
Late Justice K S Hegde, former Justice of the Supreme Court of India and former
Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
Eligibility criteria for M.D – M.S
The minimum qualification for admission to the postgraduate
program is a MBBS degree or an equivalent degree recognized by the University
and MCI.

KSHEMA Admission:
MD/MS Candidate affiliated to this university and who has
passed final year M.B.B.S. examination after pursuing study in a medical
college recognized by the Medical Council of India, from a recognized Medical
College affiliated to any other University recognized as equivalent thereto,
and has completed one year compulsory rotating internship in a teaching
Institution or other Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India,
and has obtained permanent registration of any State Medical Council shall be
eligible for admission.
List of documents to be produced at the time of admission:
- 10thStd./SSLC pass certificate(for date of birth) – Original +3 copies
- MBBS Marks cards for all the years – Original +3 copies
- MBBS degree/Provisional Degree certificate issued by the University – Original +3 copies
- Internship Completion Certificate – Original +3 copies
- Council”s Registration Certificate
- Migration certificate from the outgoing university
- Physical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner and Blood group certificate
- Photographs: Passport size: 05; Stamp size: 05
