Bharati Vidyapeeth
Deemed University (BVDU), Pune was established in 1964. The mission that
Bharati Vidyapeeth has defined for itself is to bring about intellectual
awakening of people through the spread of education and to prepare human
resources needed for all round development, particularly economic, of the
country. In 1996, the Government of India, on the recommendation of the
University Grants Commission, granted the status of "Deemed to be
University" to a cluster of 12 institutions of Bharati Vidyapeeth in
appreciation of their academic excellence.
Bharati Vidyapeeth runs more than 78 schools and 60
institutions of higher education, including those of professional education.
Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University has 32 constituent units and is one of
India's largest multi-disciplinary multi-campus universities. Over the years
BVDU has contributed thousands of well trained graduates, post graduates and
research doctorates to the pool of professionals in India and abroad.
Bharati Vidyapeeth has established five specialized research
institutes in the areas of Health Related Sciences, Biotechnology, Information
Technology, Applied Chemistry and Social Sciences. Today, Bharati Vidyapeeth
has its campuses in New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Kolhapur, Sangli,
Karad, Satara and Panchgani and at quite a few other places.
Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College Pune receives
about 8000-10000 applications for MBBS and PG courses every year. The
applicants are from all over India and abroad.
The students are enrolled in the college through a Common
Entrance Test conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth University at all India level
with examination centers in all parts of India. The students enrolled for MBBS
course should pass HSC or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry,
Biology and English subject with minimum 50% marks. The students enrolled for
PG degree and diploma courses should possess MBBS degree recognized by Medical
Council of India.
Eligibility Criteria:
- For admission to MBBS course, the candidate should have passed HSC or Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained 50% (for SC / ST at least 40%) marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together at the qualifying examination or equivalent.
- The candidate seeking admission to these courses should be an Indian national and should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission.
- Admission Criteria is MH - CET.
Admission in MBBS Course –
For getting admission into MBBS course in the Medical
College, Pune, the students have to qualify Common Entrance Test conducted by
Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University. The selection of the students is done
based on the ranks obtained in the all India Entrance Examination.
