College, Mumbai was come into existence in the year 1996.
The college has been agreement the status of Deemed-to-be-University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India on recommendation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) within a period of just six and a half years of establishment.

The college was permitted to teach post-graduate courses in
a couple of subjects. In June 2005, the college was allowed an intake of 81
students in post graduate degree and diploma.

Eligibility - D Y Patil Medical College, Mumbai
- Candidates satisfying the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for AIET
- Candidates must be Indian National.
- The Nationality Certificate issued by the District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate I Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or a valid Passport shall constitute proof of Nationality.
- Candidate should have passed H.S.C. (10+2) or equivalent examination from a Recognized Board with English securing minimum 50% marks (40% for all categories of backward class students) in the aggregate of the subjects namely, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) for admission to MBBS / BDS courses. The Backward class candidates must attach copy of the Caste Certificate and Caste Verification Certificate along with the application. Selection Procedure - D Y Patil Medical College, Mumbai
Candidates who secure the minimum 50% marks at AIET and
satisfy the eligibility norms laid down by respective councils are eligible for
admission to MBBS / BDS / BAMS / B.P.T. courses and can be offered provisional
admission to these on the basis of their interest merit at the time of

AIET.
