National Institute of
Bank Management (NIBM), Pune was set up in the year 1969 by
the Reserve Bank of India, in consultation with the Government of India, as an
autonomous apex institution.
The institute is part of the grand vision of giving a new direction to the banking industry in India and making the industry a more cost-effective instrument for national development.
The institute will be the trustee for India for helping to create world-class, competitive banking and financial services capabilities.
The institute is recognized by the University of Pune as an
approved centre for Post-Graduate Research and also by the Department of
Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government
of India.
The college has its own campus with all modern educational,
institutional and residential facilities and a library with more than 65000
books and 200 journals and periodicals PGDM (B &FS), held on residential
basis, is providing to the financial system a pool of talented youngsters
thoroughly trained and prepared with Analytical Skills & Perspectives in
Banking and Finance for directly taking up managerial responsibilities.
