College Details:

BMS Institute of Technology (BMSIT), Bangalore was come into existence in the year 2002 in Bangalore, followed by the later BMS Evening College of Engineering was established.

The institute has successfully completed 10 years and it is a matter of great pride that the college is recognized as one of the top colleges in the state of Karnataka.

The college has provided successful placements for all the seven batches of students passed out till date.

Course Description:

MCA course is an interdisciplinary 3-year PG course. The course is designed to develop high quality IT professionals to meet the ever changing industry challenges and requirements.

MCA is a Post Graduation program having six semesters. The syllabus of first semester is framed with the subjects that provide a base for the rest of the semesters in an effective way to impart skills and knowledge about the subjects. In second and third semesters, core Computer Science subjects are introduced with programming practical labs.

MCA course involves the study of system management and development system engineering application software internet management information systems software development troubleshooting hardware technology networking etc.

Department of Master of Computer Applications:

The Department of MCA was founded in the academic year 2003-04 with an approved intake of 60 students. It has a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members. Six faculty members of the department are pursuing their Ph. D program.

Computer laboratories are equipped with high-end computers, servers and installed with necessary licensed software's. Performance of students in the university examinations and in placement through campus recruitment is excellent. The department has state-of-the-art facilities.

Students of the department bagged the 2nd and the 5th ranks in the VTU examinations for the year 2012. This is the third successive year of achieving university ranks.

The department of placement and training of the institute was started in the year 2004. The department is managed by Prof. P. Ganesh, Associate Professor.

The first batch of the institute were provided placement in 2005-06. Approx 40 to 50 organizations visits every year for recruitment in BMSIT campus.

Department of placement and training cell trained its registered students of UG & PG on aptitude skills and soft skills. The placement cell of the institute believes in overall development of the students for which placement cell of the institute organises technical, cultural and literary events, which enhance student abilities and makes them efficient & effective for the top firms.

Eligibility:

Any bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 50% marks for general category. 45% for SC/ST students. Scorecard of K-MAT or PGCET should be submitted at the time of admission

Admission Criteria:

The candidate must have a Bachelor Degree with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Programming or Computer Application or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the Optional or Electives. The selection will be based on CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by the university.
