Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University:

The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences was declared as “University” under section 3 of the UGC Act in May 2005.

The University now has a number of constituent colleges, which include Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Biotechnology.

The Medical college has been recognized by the Malaysian Medical Council and the first batch of Government sponsored students has arrived. Students from all regions of India and other countries besides Malaysia viz. UAE, Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius, USA & Canada have enrolled in the University.

This year has seen the addition of new international faculty, world-class equipment and infrastructure, application of new innovative teaching methods, increased community interface & promotion of research. Motivating students for research, getting faculty support, providing funds and recognizing those with a natural passion has been our priority. Our challenge lies in seeing that the enthusiasm as is seen now should not abate.

Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences:

KIMS was established 25 years ago. The college enjoys an enviable reputation among Indian medical schools. Adaptation to new technologies, innovative teaching methods, dedicated community service and an experienced faculty have contributed to its long tradition of excellence.

Mission: To prepare competent manpower with sound knowledge and excellent skills through quality education and to inculcate scientific temper, moral and ethical values.

Vision:
a) To promote globally competitive training in the field of medicine with emphasis on need-based science and technology and contribute towards excellence in the field of medicine.

b) To start new colleges and institutes for launching programs in emerging areas and fields, with emphasis on women education, education for the underprivileged and education related to environment.

c) To raise academic standard of the university by constantly upgrading the curricula to match global standards.

d) To evolve an evaluation method that will evaluate students objectively.
e) To bring about development of teachers through workshops, seminars, refresher courses and training programs.

f) To bring about overall development of the students by ensuring their active participation in co-curricular, extra-curricular and cultural activities.

g) To seek collaboration with national and international institutes of repute and launch collaborative programs in novel areas and twinning programs in the existing courses.

h) To encourage both teachers and students to undertake research in their respective fields.
