Admission Details

Admission to all Undergraduate program will be on the basis of performance in the All India Entrance Test conducted by PIMS (Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences) University.

Admissions to all courses offered by University is steered by Admission Committee consisting of experienced persons .

The Admission Committee is responsible for conduct of the entrance test, declaration of results and merit list, counselling and final admission to the courses.

The AICET (All India Entrance) is conducted at various places in India for selection of candidates for admission to various courses offered by the constituent colleges of PIMS University.

Mode of Entrance :

1. The duration of the AICET is of three hours.
2. The test is conducted on the predefined syllabus depending upon courses. 
3. The question paper for the CET consists 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQ), each correct answer carries one mark. 
4. There is no negative marking.
5. The AICET is conducted during May-June every year for undergraduate courses and in January for PG courses. 

Distribution of Seats : 

1. General Category : 85 % seats of each course are in this category. The admission to this category will be made on the basis of interse- merit of the candidates at AICET . 
2. FN (Foreign Nationals) / PIO(Persons of Indian Origin) / NRI(Non-Resident Indians) Category : 15 % seats of each course are allocated in this category.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Candidate must be Indian National.
2. The nationality certificate issued by the District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or a valid passport will be considered as a proof of Nationality.
3. Candidate must have passed qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or equivalent) examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
4. Candidate belonging to general category must have passed in the subjects of Physics,Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination.
5. Candidate belonging to backward classes must have passed in the subjects of Physics,Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination.
6. Candidate should be either of 17 years of age on or attain this age as on 31st December of the Academic year in which admission is sought.
7. The candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination i.e. HSC (or equivalent) in February/March of the respective academic year are eligible to appear for entrance examination, however they must fulfill the eligibility condition at the time of counseling.
8. Candidate belonging to general category should obtain minimum 50% marks in CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by this Deemed University. However, admission will be on the basis of merit.
9. Candidate belonging to backward classes should obtain minimum 40% marks in CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by this Deemed University. However, admission will be on the basis of merit.
10. Candidates studied (qualifying examination) under foreign system in India, are required to obtain equivalence certificate from AIU (Association of Indian University (AIU), New Delhi.) .

The Government of Karnataka conducts Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission into various professional courses. The CET is generally conducted during Feb/March.

•  A merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in PUC/XII std. and CET.

• Relevant work experience means full time employment in any company and not in the family business. It also means working on full-time basis on the specialization departments in the company such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, Operations and so on. Only such candidates can expect differential compensations based on work experience. However the selection committee can look into all the other type of work experiences and consider award of marks.
• Candidates appearing for any final year Degree examination up to June 2014 can also apply. However, if they fail to match the above qualitative requirement when the result is declared for the graduation examination, they will be relieved from the course compulsorily. Same will be the case with respect to those who fail in their degree examination, which means a candidate should qualify his/her graduation examination with a minimum of 50% marks latest by the academic year 2013-14. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College is a constituent medical school of newly created KLE University. It is located at Belgaum in Karnataka state. Admission Details

• A candidate desirous of appearing in the KLEU- PGAIET, is required to complete the prescribed online application form available on the University website and submit the same to the University online, on or before the scheduled date.  
• The hard copy (Printout) of the application form submitted online must reach the University office on or before the scheduled date.

Eligibility Criteria

Requisite qualifications for admission to Medical PG Degree and Diploma courses: 

• The candidate seeking admission to these courses should have passed MBBS phase III examinations from the college recognized by Medical Council
  

   of India. 
• Those of the students who have taken additional 4 (Four) or more than 4 (Four) extra attempts (i.e. who have failed for four times) during the entire MBBS course are not eligible to apply for admission to PG Degree/ PG Diploma courses. Production of attempt certificate from the Head of the Institution is mandatory.
  
• As per the regulations of statutory bodies, as laid out in Post Graduate regulations the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50 percent.
  
• The candidate should have completed the compulsory rotating internship/would be completing by 30th of April.
• Foreign / PIO / NRI students need not appear for KLEU-PGAIET. Their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks.

MCI Norms: Medical PG Degree and Diploma Courses: 

• Every student selected for admission to the Postgraduate medical/dental course in any of the medical institutions in the country, shall possess recognized MBBS degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent Registration from the Medical Council of India, or any of the State Medical Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of the admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled. 
• Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the MCI may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the postgraduate training restricted to the medical college/ institute to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for postgraduate studies; provided further, that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subjected to the condition that such person is duly registered as medical practitioner in his own country from which the applicant has obtained his/her basic medical qualification and that his/her degree is recognized by the corresponding medical council or concerned authority. 
• If the candidate fails to fulfill the relevant eligibility requirements as mentioned above he/she will not be considered eligible for admission for Medical PG Degree and Diploma courses even if he/she is placed in the merit list of the KLEU-PGAIET. 
• The candidates are advised not to submit their application forms for appearing in KLEU-PGAIET, if they do not fulfill any or all of the relevant eligibility requirement.

Eligibility Criteria

• A minimum 50% in graduation, which must be completed by June 2014.
• Should have taken CAT (2013) conducted by the IIMs for the year specified in the advertisement (IIMS have no role in the Welingkar admission process) and /or/ XAT (2014) / and / or ATMA (2013-2014) and / or CMAT (2013-2014) and / or Mh-CET (2014).

Selection Procedure

The Selection process is divided into two stages. 

Stage I:

Written Test Score (WT) 

The Institute, basis of the percentile provided by the student, will assign a score out of 100 using a statistical normalization process. In case, the student has given multiple test percentiles, the highest will be considered.

Students should note that percentile and percentage are not the same.

The Psychometric Test is a computer based test aimed at identifying your personality traits.

Past academic record (PAR)

The marks assigned for past academic record include marks for percentage obtained in Class 10, Class 12, Graduation and Post Graduation (if applicable). In case a student is appearing for Graduation or Post Graduation, the percentage column will be blank. Students must not enter an aggregate of previous years

Documents to be enclosed along with completed application for academic results are:

• Attested copy of Mark sheet of Class 10, 12, Graduation, Post Graduation (whichever applicable)
• Attested copy of Graduation and Post Graduation Certificate.
• Applications not having the above documents will not be given marks for Past Academic Record. Maximum Marks in this section is 10. 

Work Experience (WE)

In Stage I, Marks assigned for work experience is on the basis of duration of work experience only. Only full-time work experience, after completing graduation will be considered. 

Documents to be enclosed along with completed application for persons with work experience are:

• Experience letter or a combination of Appointment letter and latest salary slip for the current organization working
• Experience letter or a combination of Appointment and Relieving letter for all previous jobs mentioned.
• The maximum marks in this parameter is 10. In the absence of the above documents marks will not be given for the work experience claimed by the student.

ANY false claim / fake documents being submitted will be automatically disqualified from the Selection Process and no appeal will be entertained in this regard.

The total score of 220 in Stage I will then be used to shortlist students for Stage II of the Selection process. Therefore ALL applicants will not be called for Stage II. Students should note that being called for Stage II is dependant on 4 parameters as mentioned above and not only on the Written Test Score. Hence a specific percentile cut-off for being invited to Stage II does not apply.

Stage I of selection process will be the same for the students applied for PGDM / PGDM e-Business / PGDM Business Design / PGDM Retail Management / PGDM Healthcare / PGDM Rural Management.

Only Students short listed from Stage I will go through Stage II.

Stage II comprising of the above evaluation parameters will be conducted at the choice of GD/PI Centers provided by the Institute.

All applicants going through Stage II will go through all the parameters mentioned above. The interview would also be used as a mechanism to judge such other design competencies as observation, empathy, creativity, spotting opportunities, visualization among other aspects. 

The Extracurricular activities and Essay Questions will be reviewed in the Personal Interviews; hence students are advised to respond to them appropriately. Your response to the questions in the Application Form will play a significant role in your interviews.

Personal Interview is aimed at evaluating the students from an overall perspective, and suitability and capability to pursue a management program. It is also aimed at judging the interest and aptitude of the students with reference to the programs indicated in the Preference section.

The final selection of the students is based on the overall performance on 450 marks.

Students will be offered admission to a program basis of their preference AND their suitability / fit with a program identified on the basis of their performance in the entire process.

Admission Details

The Candidates seeking Admission in KIMS Karad for Post Graduate Courses have to appear Post Graduate Medical All India Entrance Test (PGM AIET) conducted by KIMS University.

1. Candidates must obtain 50% or more marks at PGM AIET to qualify for admission.
2. The provisional selection for the General seats in the Post Graduate courses will be done on the basis of merit in the Post Graduate Medical All India Entrance Test.

Kasturba Medical College (KMC) is a medical college based in Manipal, Udupi District Karnataka, India.

Established by Dr T.M.A. Pai on 30th June, 1953, KMC was the first private sector medical college in India. The college started with only the pre-clinical section at Manipal and the students had to go to Mangalore for their clinical training. With the clinical program commenced at Manipal in 1969 with the setting up of Kasturba Hospital, it became a full-fledged independent college and Mangalore becoming a separate constituent college, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore.

GENERAL/IN-SERVICE/FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: 

Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET)-2014. 

GOVERNMENT CATEGORY: 

Few medical seats in KMC, Manipal are reserved for candidates selected by the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore. 

IN-SERVICE CATEGORY:

Based on the requirements of the department/institution, a few seats are reserved under this category. Seat allocation in this category depends on the need for getting faculty in a particular specialization which will be decided from time to time. Such candidates must be ready to give service agreement to serve Manipal University or sister institutions for atleast 3 years after completion of the course.

To be eligible,the Indian citizens who have served the institution/s (KMC Manipal or KMC Mangalore or associated teaching hospitals of MU) as Junior Resident for a minimum peroid of 8 months and are in active service at above mentioned institution/s at the time of counseling.

Candidates who are not working at the time of admission as above will not be considered under this category. These candidates will pay the same fees as applicable to the candidates under General category.

Candidates can apply either under General/In-Service or Foreign/NRI category. Those submitting applications under both General and Foreign/NRI categories will be considered only under the General category. Change of category at a later stage will not be entertained under any circumstances. 

NOTE FOR FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: 

Foreign nationals or candidates holding foreign degrees must write to the Medical Council of India to obtain a temporary registration for the duration of the postgraduate training. Such candidates must be registered as Medical practitioners in the country from which they have obtained their basic Medical qualification. Their degrees must also be recognized by the corresponding Medical Council or by any other equivalent authority.

Eligibility Criteria

A. CITIZENSHIP: 

Indian Nationals can apply under the General/In-service Category. Foreign nationals or Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/NRI category. To qualify under the NRI category, candidates must be an NRI or supported by either Parents or Brothers or Sisters or Spouse having an NRI status.

Candidates supported by cousin brother/cousin sister, uncle, aunt, brother/sister-in-law or any other person will not be accepted.

NRI applicants should enclose the photocopy of the passport and the photocopy of the sponsoring relative's passport along with their application. If the spouse is sponsoring and his/her name is not reflected in the passport, marriage registration certificate should be enclosed. No other certificate or affidavit in lieu of the above will be accepted. Applications without the above mentioned enclosures will be treated as incomplete and will be rejected. No appeals will be entertained.
