Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal was established in the year 1953. KMC was granted Certification by the Medical Council of India in 1958. 

It is a leading medical college began with the pre-clinical section. Certification by the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council soon followed.

Previously, KMC was under the purview of the Mangalore University. In 1993, the government of India granted Deemed University status to Manipal University (formerly known as MAHE) which saw KMC coming under its wing.

Eligibility Criteria at Kasturba Medical College Manipal

Qualification: Pass in 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together.

Admission Procedure at Kasturba Medical College Manipal

• Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) 2015. Candidates who have secured minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) 2015 will be considered for admissions.
• Foreign/NRI Category: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination
• Government Category: Few MBBS seats are reserved for candidates selected by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Government of Karnataka, and Bangalore.
