BMS College of Law,
Bangalore was started in the year 1963. It is affiliated to Karnataka State
Law Open University and approved by Bar Council of India.
The College, situated in the heart of the city, was started during the academic year 1963-64 under the aegis of the BMS EDUCATIONAL TRUST. The Trust is named after Late Dharamaprakasha Rajakaryaprasaktha B. M. Sreenivasaiah, whose philanthropy resulted in the establishment of the First Engineering College under the Private Management of the State of Karnataka.

BMS College of Law is one of the oldest Law colleges of
Bangalore, which was earlier started as an evening college for the 3 year L.L.B
course. With time, the college also started the 5 year L.L.B degree course as
per the Bangalore University and recently in the year 2008 it started the 3
year L.L.B degree course, however the college now functions in the morning for
both the 5 year L.L.B and the 3 year L.L.B.
Initially the college was affiliated to Mysore University,
later Bangalore University and now to Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) and
is approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. During the inception of the
College, the Administrative Principal, Late A G Ramachandra Rao, was the
Minister for Education in the State of Mysore.

Eligibility - BMS College of Law, Bangalore
The candidates must have passed in 10+2 examination with any
stream, from any recognized state/national Board.
Admission Criteria - BMS College of Law, Bangalore
An applicant who has successfully completed Pre-University
course or Senior Secondary School course (‘+2’) or equivalent such as (11+1,
‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving Certificate Course) from a recognized
University of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted
or recognized by the Union or by the State Government or from any equivalent
institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country
for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of
the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course. Selection will be
based as per the university norms.
