Sri Venkateshwaraa
Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (SVMCHRC), Pondicherry was set up in the year 2007. It is a famous institution situated in
Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
The institution is owned by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The institute is a non-funded institution, recognized by UGC.
The medical college is a Deemed University, started by
Andhra Pradesh State Legislature. It is a member of the Association of Indian
Universities (AIU).
The institute was following the footsteps of AIIMS, New
Delhi, so as to serve the purpose of providing super speciality facilities with
nominal cost, to the poor. In 1993, the hospital of the college also started
functioning and by 1995, the medical college was granted deemed university
status.
The college has provided enormous medical relief to the
people of Andhra and the neighbouring states. It is considered a benchmark in
terms of facilities and infrastructure among the medical institutions in Andhra
Pradesh.

The M.B.B.S Course is governed by the regulations of the
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. The duration of the
course is four and half years (9 terms, each of 6 month duration) of academic
Study and one year of internship.
