Institute of Medical
Sciences & Research was established in 2012, in Satara, Maharashtra to
provide quality healthcare education, research and training facilities to
medical professionals. The vision of the inception of the medical institute and
the hospital was to provide affordable and highly skilled delivery of
healthcare facilities. The college forms a Constituent Unit of Shri Chhatrapati
Shivaji Education Society. The various medical degree and diploma programs are
recognized by the Medical Council of India or MCI and Maharashtra University of
Health Sciences or MUHS, and Government of Maharashtra.

Admission procedure of the medical college
IMSR is renowned for its courses with various
specializations in General Medicine, Surgery, Community Medicine, Pediatric,
Radiology, Physiology, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology, Anatomy, and
Biochemistry etc. Admission to 5 and a half years’ MBBS course inclusive of one
year’s internship period is based on the previous academic performance in
Higher Secondary Certification examination, with mandatory Physics, Biology and
Chemistry electives, with minimum required aggregate of 50%. The students
should be at a minimum 17 years of age on or before the year of admission.
Intake permission under MCI for MBBS is 100 students. Seats under management
and reservation quota are allotted according to Associate CET rules.
