MD\MS Courses In Dr. BR Ambedkar College

DR.B.R. Ambedkar Medical College, Kadugondanahalli was established in 1981 by Ananda Social and Education Trust, with the objective of providing primary, secondary and tertiary health care facilities to the deserving. The college is now affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The college runs the MBBS course as well as post-graduate courses in many subjects that are recognized by the Medical Council of India.

The institution also envisages producing doctors with best possible professional knowledge and attitude of service above self, both at undergraduate and post graduate levels. The mission of the institute is to provide the knowledge base, empathetic attitudes and practical skills which are necessary to practice modern medicine and to build the character and skills of our doctors to encourage their growth into well rounded, caring human beings.

Post graduate Programmes

The duration of the Post graduate degree course is 3 years and the Diploma course is 2 years with the study designed as per Medical Council of India and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Karnataka

Under graduate Programmes

Annual intake of students for the MBBS course is 100 and is recognised by Medical Council of India, New Delhi and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.
The duration of the course is 4 years of academic study and 1 year of compulsory internship . As per the new regulations of Medical Council of India (MCI) the MBBS course has been divided into 3 phases as per the details

 Phase I

 (Pre clinical)         Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry,                       
 After successful completion of all the subjects of  Phase I  examination of university, the students  become eligible to  enter the Para clinical phase.  No carryover of subjects is  permissible

 Phase II

 (Para clinical)     Pharmacology, Pathology,  Microbiology 
 During this period the students also learn the  basics clinical  subjects and Community medicine.  The clinical training starts  in this phase. After  successful completion of all the subjects  of Phase  II examination of university, the students become   eligible to enter the clinical phase-III (Part 1). No  carryover  of subjects is permissible

 Phase III – 

 Clinical Part I        Community Medicine,   Ophthalmology ENT                     
 After successful completion of all the subjects of  Phase III (Part 1)examination of university, the  students become eligible to enter the clinical  phase. No carryover of subjects is permissible

 Phase III –

 Clinical part-II    Medicine, Paediatrics,Surgery,   Obstetrics &  Gynaecology.                       

 After successful completion of all the subjects of  Phase III (Part 2)examination of university, the  students become eligible for compulsory internship  during which phase the students learn to diagnose  and treat the diseased independently
